Since the recent ECJ “Schrems II” ruling, invalidating Privacy Shield and imposing additional obligations on organisations relying on standard contractual clauses, many organisations on both sides of the pond are facing legal uncertainties related to third-country transfers of personal data. While EU companies oftentimes rely on (cloud) service providers to digitise and improve their work streams, service providers not located in the EU struggle for their EU based customers. One alternative transfer mechanism – newly introduced by GDPR and often overlooked – is Codes of Conduct.
This webinar explores the benefits and potentials of Codes of Conduct to address legal uncertainties after Schrems II and introduces the Third Country Transfer module of the EU Cloud CoC.
The objective of the webinar series is to enable interaction between participants and stakeholders to discuss the implementation of a new balanced framework.
The first and kick-off Webinar will take place on 24 February 2021 at 5.00 pm CET – 11.00 am EST. For further details, refer to the dedicated announcement of the first episode.
