CSA Collaboration

The EU Cloud CoC, a pioneering GDPR compliance tool endorsed by the European Data Protection Board,  has established a collaboration with the Cloud Security Alliance (CSA), a widely reputed leader in the development of various IT and cyber security certifications.  

It is the mutual mission of developing effective and accessible standards for the cloud industry that constitutes the very foundation of this collaboration, which aims to significantly enhance trust in cloud services and, ultimately, boot their uptake globally.

This step will allow the CSA community to declare adherence to the EU Cloud CoC via a dedicated framework and, by that, legally demonstrate their GDPR compliance. In this context, Cloud Service Providers that have successfully gone through the EU Cloud CoC’s assessment process will have their Compliance Mark displayed both in the Code’s Public Registry as well as in the CSA STAR Registry, a publicly accessible registry that documents the security and privacy controls provided by popular cloud computing offerings. 

This collaboration is a crucial step to foster transparency and accountability as it equips cloud users to make well-informed decisions when evaluating different offerings, ensuring the appropriate levels of data protection and cyber security are reached.
