Over the past four years, this journey has been shaped by deep engagement with cloud providers of all sizes and a steadfast commitment to transparency and accountability. Today, more than 1,700 cloud services have declared adherence to the Code—spanning the full spectrum of XaaS offerings and demonstrating its practical utility in daily operations. But our efforts have not stopped there.
To respond to an increasingly complex regulatory landscape, the Code continues to evolve. Most notably, the Third Country Transfers Module is being developed by the Code's working group to offer a GDPR-based solution to one of the most pressing challenges in data protection: enabling responsible and lawful international data flows.
Another important milestone in this journey has been our collaboration with the Cloud Security Alliance (CSA). Through this partnership, services adhering to the EU Cloud CoC can now display the Code’s compliance mark within the CSA STAR Registry. This interoperability further enhances transparency and allows cloud customers to identify services that meet both security and data protection standards—contributing to greater harmonization across the ecosystem.
As we look back on the achievements of the past four years, we are equally focused on what lies ahead. The EU Cloud CoC ecosystem remains committed to contributing to the strongest protection of data subjects' rights and a resilient, digital future in Europe and beyond.
